WWF Germany criticizes MSC certification of the joint demersal North sea fisherman association as “Green Washing at Sea” in its recent press release.

English Translation: The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) has granted sustainability certificates to a number of German, Dutch, Danish, and Swedish fishermen, despite the objections of the nature conservation organization WWF. WWF criticised the decision in a statement as “Green Washing of the high seas”. According to the WWF, the questionable fisheries association operates more than 950 boats in the North Sea and to a large extent in nature reserves such as the Dogger bank.
