The fishery was certified in 2018 for free school sets, and wants to add the FAD sets now that compartmentalization will no longer be possible from 2023. No proof could be provided by the mostly Chinese and Taiwanese vessels that finning does not occur, and the CAB has placed a condition on certification that proof for the no finning claim needed to be provided.
